Magnitude 4.8 earthquake hits western Turkey

An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude shook Turkey's western province of Manisa on Tuesday, according to the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), APA's local bureau reports.

AFAD said the quake struck Manisa's Kırkagac district at 2:26 p.m. local time (1126 GMT) from a depth of 6.99 kilometers.

According to initial reports, the tremor was felt from neighboring provinces, including Izmir, Aydin and Denizli.

Authorities said no casualties or damages have been reported so far.
