5.1-magnitude earthquake hits off the coast of Cyprus again

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was recorded off the coast of Paphos tonight (02.02.2022) around 23:03. The earthquake was felt in many regions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), including the capital Nicosia, APA reports.

AFAD and The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) have announced the magnitude of the earthquake as 5.1. It was recorded that the epicenter of the earthquake was 58 kilometers west of Paphos, at a depth of 65 kilometers.

According to The US Geological Survey, USGS, it was a magnitude 5.3 at 52 km northwest of Pégeia, Cyprus at 29.7 km depth.
