Tehran –APA. British Council office in Tehran suspended its operations after staff members after staff members were intimidated by the Iranian authorities, APA reports. Iran’s embassy in London said it would investigate the report. Iran has denied visas for any British staff and all local employees resigned after being summoned to the president’s office, the council says. The council says pressure has been growing over its activities. Earlier in December, two Iranian staff members had their passports confiscated while trying to leave the country to attend a meeting. The British Council said it suspended its activity in Iran beginning from January 31, 2009.
