Egypt continues efforts toward settlement of Gaza conflict

Baku. Victoria Dementyevaâ€“APA. Egypt continues efforts toward settlement of the conflict in Gaza Strip. Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit held contacts, on January 11 and 12, with his European counterparts to acquaint them with Egyptian efforts of achieving ceasing fire in Gaza Strip, stated spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, APA reports. Aboul Gheit informed them of the contacts Egypt holds with both Israeli and Palestinian sides in order to reach an immediate cease-fire, end Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, and open safe corridors to deliver assistance to the inhabitants of the Strip.
The contacts also aim to mobilize the international community to support the Egyptian initiative in order to stop bloodshed of Palestinians, pointing out that European ministers expressed their countries’ support and appreciation for the continuous Egyptian efforts to achieve cease fire.
