13 gunned down in Pakistan’s Karachi
On Thursday night, two men were killed in two separate incidents of shooting by unknown gunmen in Keemari and Surjani town areas of the city, the attackers fled from the scene and identities of the deceased have not been determined yet.
In another incident, two people were gunned down in Orangi No. 4 area. Meanwhile, another man was killed in Sikanderabad area.
In Sohrab Goth area on Thursday morning, some unknown bike riders fired at a police vehicle, killing a police official right on the spot and injuring two others. The attackers managed to flee from the scene.
A woman was gunned down in Landhi area of Karachi.
In another incident, some unknown gunmen attacked a hotel in Malir Memon area, killing two people and injuring several others.
A tortured dead body was found near Maripur area of the city.
Three men were shot dead in the areas of Sohrab Goth’s Super Market, Dalmia and Baldia town.
Additional contingent of police has been deployed in the affected areas. Police also arrested two target killers from Sohrab Goth area of the city and seized weapons in their possession.
The current stream of violence has badly affected the trade activities in the country’s largest business hub of Karachi. On Thursday, business centers, including the main electronic market in the city, remained closed in protest against the lawlessness in the city.
According to local police, over 1800 people, including 90 policemen, have been killed in the city since the beginning of this year.
