15 jungle fire extinguish bases to establish in Iran

Baku-APA. Director General of Public Relations Office of Organization of Jungles, Pastures and Irrigation sid 15 jungle fire extinguish bases in different provinces of the country will be established, APA reports quoting IRNA.

Khalil Abedini told on Tuesday that the second base of these has been commissioned in Golestan province recently.

He added that bases in other provinces like Semnan and Fars will be established next year.

Referring to 53 percent decrease in jungle fire, he said that since 2005, 14 thousand fires have occurred in 150 thousand hectares of jungles of the country.

Abedinin said fire in jungle usually is caused by either natural or man-made reasons, adding that now with people participation and assistance as well as appropriate dissemination of information occurrence of fire in jungles has decreased noticeably.
