Baku-APA. Turkish parliament approved Thursday the extension of the government’s motion to conduct military operations against the outlawed Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) in the north of Iraq for one more year, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The motion was approved by votes of deputies of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).

"Terrorist attacks and open threats from terrorist PKK groups sheltering in the north of Iraq still continue against the Turkish nation’s peace and security, and against Turkey’s national unity and territorial integrity," the motion said.

Turkey, which attaches a great importance to the territorial integrity, national unity and stability of Iraq, has exerted efforts for the end of PKK attacks targeting the country and the eradication of PKK rebels from the north of Iraq, it said.
