Iranian President to watch London Summer Olympic Games

Bahram Afshazadeh said that Ahmadinejad plans to participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26: â€œWe still donâ€™t know whether president wants only to participate in the opening ceremony or observe the performance of Iranian sportsmen and support them. I also plan to join Iranian president in this event. We identified with the help of different sources that there are no any obstructions that can prevent the participation of Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad in Olympic Games ceremony.â€

Iran will send 50 sportsmen to London Summer Olympic Games to participate in athletics and weightlifting events. They will attend the wrestling, shooting, table tennis and other tournaments. Ahmadinejad said: â€œI want to be near Iranian sportsmen and support them at the competition, because there are some problems dealing with support to Iranian sportsmenâ€.
