Iraqi embassy in Azerbaijan issues statement on second round of Iran’s nuclear talks in Baghdad

The statement says that the holding of the second round of the talks in Baghdad was confirmed: “As a display of Iraq’s active role in the settlement of modern international and regional crises, the Iraqi government started to take a step towards its active leadership for strengthening of peace and stability in the region. In terms of desire to lead the regional attempts towards prevention of region’s involvement in destructive wars and conflicts and turning it into a region free from the weapons of mass destruction and political tension, Baghdad will host the next meeting on Iran’s nuclear program on May 23, 2012. The delegation in “5+1” format (US, Russia, China, France, United Kingdom and Germany) led by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will participate in the meeting from the European Union side, the delegation led by secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili will participate in the meeting from Iranian side.
