Jordan working to find solution to Syrian crisis

Baku-APA. King Abdullah II of Jordan said on Monday his country is exerting efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis within the consensus of the Arabs, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The Jordanian leader reiterated support to the efforts of former UN secretary general Kofi Annan to resolve the Syrian crisis.

He made the remarks at a meeting with a delegation representing the British House of Commons and House of Lords.

At the meeting, Abdullah II also underlined the need for intensified efforts by the international community to create the suitable environment to encourage the Palestinians and the Israelis to resume peace talks.

Talks, he said, should focus on resolving final status issues leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state at the borders of 1967 with east Jerusalem as its capital and living side by side with Israel in peace and security.

The delegation commended Jordan’s efforts to attain Mideast peace.
