Azerbaijani ambassador to Libya: “All Azerbaijani citizens, registered in the embassy’s consular service, left Libya”

Ambassador Aghasalim Shukurov told APA that there was a peace in Libya’s capital at that moment: “The clashes took place at 8 km from Libya’s capital and in Benghazi city. It is impossible to fully reject the strike to Tripoli, but despite this, we continue our work”.

Shukurov reminded the UN Security council’s ban to fly in Libya’s air space. The resolution excludes ground military campaign, but the protection of civil population and settlements, including the conduction the necessary measures for the protection of the non-flight zone. No plane can fly can come and leave Libya in connection with the determination of non-flight zone. It is impossible to leave the country by air, but it is possible by land.

Shukurov underlined that all Azerbaijani citizens, registered in the embassy’s consular service, left Libya. Some diplomats of the embassy were sent to Azerbaijan after the start of the incidents. Three diplomats are staying with the ambassador in Libya.
