Baku-APA. Israeli forces have launched an airstrike against the Palestinians in the east of the Gaza Strip, with initial reports indicating there have been casualties, APA reports quoting Press TV.
The attack occurred late on Saturday night, but the exact number of casualties is still not clear, a Press TV correspondent in Gaza reported.
Israeli fighter jets targeted a number of sites across the coastal strip.
Officials in the Hamas-administered region said they have evacuated all security posts and police stations as more attacks are expected.
Over the past few months, Israel has escalated its ground and air attacks on the blockaded coastal enclave, killing civilians and damaging property.
On February 27, one Palestinian was killed and two others injured when Israeli fighter jets pounded an area east of Gaza City.
A day earlier, missiles from Israeli warplanes hit two sites in the Gaza Strip, injuring at least four people, including a toddler.
