Baku-APA. King Abdullah II of Jordan on Thursday met with the Muslim Brotherhood, Jordan’s largest opposition party, and stressed that he would proceed with combating corruption and widening national dialogue on reforms, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

"Jordan’s comprehensive reform process stumbled and witnessed slow progress as some people placed their personal interests on top of the public interest and there was fear of changing and hesitance in taking decision by many officials," the Jordanian leader said, according to a Royal Court statement.

At the meeting also attended by representative of the Islamic Action Front (IAF), the political wing of Muslim Brotherhood, Abdullah II underlined the need for concerted efforts by the government, parliament, political parties and civil society institutions to press ahead with the comprehensive reform process which is important for building a bright future for the Jordanians.

The king urged all Jordanians to work together and take practical and effective steps to achieve the necessary progress in the political reform process that increases citizens’ participation in decision-making.
