Baku-APa. Several bomb attacks and shootings in and around Baghdad have killed at least five people, including three civilians, Iraqi security officials announce, APA reports quoting presstv.ir website.

The civilians were killed in a drive-by shooting in the town of Jurf al-Sakhr in southwestern Baghdad, Iraqi police said on Tuesday.

The attack has also left one Iraqi civilian wounded, AFP reported.

In a separate incident, a police captain in the south Baghdad neighborhood of Jadriyah was killed on his way to work when his car exploded.

Meanwhile, a soldier was killed and another was wounded when their armored vehicle exploded in the north Baghdad district of Mashahdeh.

The recent deaths come as earlier on Monday, at least seven people were killed and 45 others injured across the war-torn country.

More than seven years after the US-led invasion of the country in March 2003, bombings and shootings still remain common across Iraq.
