In Bangladesh, ferry disaster kills 16

Baku-APA. Bangladeshi authorities say at least 16 people have been killed and many more have gone missing after a packed ferry capsized in northeastern parts of the country, APA reports quoting presstv.ir website.
The ferry sank about 140 kilometers (85 miles) north of the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.
Local officials say the recovered bodies include 10 children and two women.
Rescue operations are underway, with scores of ferry passengers still missing.
Ferry accidents are common in the country due to poor safety standards.
Last month, an overloaded ferry sank in central Bangladesh, leaving at least 16 people dead.
