Turkish FM: “Israel will answer for such behavior which is contrary to international lawâ€

It was noted in the statement that, Turkey denounced such force by Israeli army towards civilians carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza people: “Israel once more showed that its disregard for human life and peace efforts by targeting on sinless people. We reprobate such outrageous cruelty. This incident – being contrary to international law, may cause impossible restoration of our relations. Along with steps taken by our ambassador to Tal-Aviv, Israeli ambassador to Turkey will be called to our Ministry and told that this incident is unacceptable and explanation will be demanded from him. Israel will answer for such behavior which is contrary to international lawâ€.
Note that, Mavi Marmara vessel owned by Turkey was also among the ships carrying aid to Gaza. 16 were killed during the incident. Protest actions began in front of the Israeli embassy in Ankara immediately after the incident. Police is surrounding the embassy building. Israel’s ambassador to Turkey Gabi Levy has been called to Turkish Foreign Ministry.
