Ayatollah Khamenei: â€œAzerbaijani people have always demonstrated courageâ€

Suleyman Farzaliyev â€“ APA. â€œThe crowded rallies of Iranian people on February 11 were indeed a divine miracle,â€ supreme religious leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyyid Ali Khamenei said at the meeting with the citizens coming from Eastern Azerbaijan, mostly Azerbaijanis. The religious leader said Iran was developing, it worried those who did not love Iran.

He underlined that Iran had always wanted peace.
â€œThe US and Israel are committing crimes, torture poor people. None of these states are aware of their peoples, sometimes people do not approve them, under this situation they accuse Iran of being an Islamic state. They speak about human rights, but never obey them,â€ he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the Azerbaijani people had always demonstrated courage.he called the Azerbaijanis honorable.

Iran Islamic revolution started in Tabriz on February 18. 1977, after that the whole Iranian people joined the people of Tabriz and managed to overthrow the shahâ€™s regime. After that historical event, supreme religious leader of Iran receives the Azerbaijanis on February 18 every year.

The founder of Iran Islamic revolution Imam Khomeini used to receive the Azerbaijanis that day in Jamaran mosque. Khomeini called the Azerbaijanis honorable, courageous.
