Baku –APA. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie, father of the president’s son-in-law and his choice for the key post of first vice president, APA reports quoting IRNA. The decision on Friday came after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, ordered Ahmadinejad to reverse his decision regarding Mashaie who had been under fire for comments he made last year in which he was quoted as saying Iranians could be friends with anyone, including Israelis. Mashaie has no serious influence among the conservatives. A forum organized by Mashaie where dancers brought Holy Qur’an, was also protested last year. Mashaie took the office of the first vice president only three days until July 17. He resigned saying that he was a relative to the president, but Ahmadinejad rejected his resignation in that time.
