The Mayor of Washington DC Muriel Bowser discussed on Sunday the situation with monkeypox in the city, saying that it needs more vaccines at the moment, APA reports citing CBC News.
The city has already gotten 8,000 doses, but ''we estimate that we need about 100,000 doses to address the current target population,'' she explained to CBC, adding that they already have a ''robust'' testing system based on the model that was used for COVID-19. Bowser also invited everybody to get a vaccine once it becomes available.
A couple of days ago, the country's officials claimed that the US is working on spreading more than 100,000 doses of monkeypox vaccine nationwide as the country faces a surprising outbreak with several hundreds of new cases every day.
