US President Donald Trump stated that the United States would not provide security guarantees to Ukraine, emphasizing that Europe should take on this responsibility as it is in its interest, US President Donald Trump stated during a meeting of the US Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.

"I'm not going to make security guarantees beyond very much. We're going to have Europe do that because... Europe is their next-door neighbor," Trump said.

At the same time, he noted that the US would make efforts to ensure everything proceeds as planned. Trump added that the US will continue to be a partner to Kyiv, as Ukraine has many rare earth metals that are important for the US.

"We've been able to make a deal where we're going to get our money back, and we're going to get a lot of money in the future," the US President stated noting that he is doing this for two reasons: to stop the loss of lives in the war in Ukraine and because he does not want to spend more money.

Trump noted that this is precisely why they want to cooperate with Ukraine.

"It’s a great deal for Ukraine too, because they get us over there and we’re going to be working over there. We will be on the land," the President said.

He added that the presence of the US in Ukraine would be “automatic security because nobody’s going to be messing around with our people when we’re there". Besides, according to Trump, Europe will also be closely watching everything: the UK and France stated that they want to introduce peacekeeping forces to Ukraine.
