United States President Joe Biden stated that ending the Yemen conflict is the administration's highest priority, the White House revealed in a statement released on Thursday, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
Following the decision by the warring parties to extend the current truce for another two months, Biden stated that the administration's goal is to achieve a "permanent settlement" of the conflict in Yemen while also de-escalating tensions throughout the Middle East.
Previously, the United Nations announced that Yemen's Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition had reached an agreement to extend the existing ceasefire.
