United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Monday that Washington repeatedly saw Israel's "willingness to step forward and do a deal" with Hamas over the weekend, referring to the ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Joe Biden last week, APA reports citing BBN.

He said that those in the international community who are calling for a ceasefire should "train their eyes on Hamas" and urge them to agree to the proposal.

Sullivan also advocated for long-term support to Ukraine, stating that the US is "actively working right now to surge and acquire additional air defense systems" for Kiev. He said Ukraine's allies must provide economic as well as military support, adding that they are fighting a "battle for the immediate present" but also a "battle for Ukraine's future."
