Baku-APA. U.S. National Security Advisor Thomas Donilon will visit Russia on April 15, a Russian presidential aide said Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"Thomas Donilon will arrive in Moscow in April and will hold consultations with his colleagues," Yuri Ushakov told a press briefing.
He said the two sides would discuss "in particular" the issues of new U.S. missile defense shield configuration. "Concerns about the new configuration persist, but we need to discuss details and see how they look," the Interfax news agency quoted Ushakov as saying.
The U.S. side has proposed a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but it would depend on Putin's schedule, Ushakov said.
"As I said, Donilon will meet with his partners, including Nikolai Patrushev (Secretary of the Russian Security Council)," the official said.
He also confirmed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been invited by Putin to visit Russia.
