Baku-APA. Seven people, including three women, were killed and another two people were injured late Thursday when a man burst into a bar in northern Mexico and opened fire, local police said Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect entered the Mogabi Bar in downtown Chihuahua, capital of the state of the same name, wearing a hood and bullet-proof vest, and carrying a shotgun, and began shooting at the patrons.
The assailant then fled the scene, evading police through the streets of the downtown area.
According to one news source, the three women were waitresses.
Mexico's state-owned news agency Notimex said the bar is located three blocks from the district's police headquarters, which was closed at the time of the attack.
City, state and federal police were searching for the suspect, who some described as a "young man."
Police offered no motives for the killings, but similar attacks have been attributed to extortion groups taking revenge on businesses that fail to pay protection money.
