Jared Bernstein has been confirmed by the United States Congress as the chair of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), APA reports citing Teletrader.
He was nominated to the position by President Joe Biden in February, having served on the CEA since 2021.
The Senate voted 50-49 in favor of confirming Bernstein, with Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville absent and Democratic Senator Joe Manchin voting against. "I did not vote for Mr. Bernstein because we must protect America’s economic stability and energy security from radical policies such as the Green New Deal," the centrist Democrat said.
