"We will be with Türkiye in the recovery and construction works after the earthquake," said the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is on a visit to Türkiye, at the joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, APA reports.
Blinken noted that he went to Hatay, where the earthquake occurred, and said that he saw with his own eyes the scale of the destruction: It is difficult to describe the situation that I saw there. Large estates and cities were seriously damaged and buildings were destroyed
He said that the US sent aid to Türkiye shortly after the earthquake. "Those who came to help from the United States are aware of the magnitude of the disaster and are doing everything they can to help".
Blinken recalled that the US has so far allocated 85 million dollars in aid to Türkiye and Syria, and another 100 million dollars will be allocated these days.
