Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro said on Monday in a video from his hospital bed that he will back on the job on Tuesday, two days after having a hernia operation, APA reports citing Reuters.

“Folks, I am just taking Monday off. Tomorrow I am back to work,” Bolsonaro said in the video.

His office said Bolsonaro was in a stable condition after a successful five-hour operation to correct a hernia caused by the weakening of abdominal tissues from three previous operations after he was stabbed a year ago during the election campaign.

Vice President Hamilton Mourão, who took over as interim president before Bolsonaro’s surgery, had been expected to continue in the post through Thursday.
