The two discussed the two countries' shared goals related to democracy, with Blinken underscoring the need for "all Peruvian actors to engage in constructive dialogue to ease political divisions and focus on reconciliation."
The news comes after widespread demonstrations have shaken Peru after the arrest of former President Pedro Castillo earlier in December.
