United States President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that China's Belt and Road Initiative is "not working very well" for the countries that took part in it and that there is "a hell of a lot of debt and demands being made" related to the infrastructure project, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Speaking at a reception for heads of US diplomatic missions, he said the US can offer debt relief and work with countries on other issues, such as climate change.
"Nations around the world choose to work with us not because of our force or threats of coercion but because we understand what they can do better and what we can do better as well," Biden said.
