New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson withdraws from the post of Commerce Secretary

Washington–APA. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, commerce secretary-designate in President-elect Barack Obama’s Cabinet withdrew from consideration due federal investigation in one of the New Mexico companies having relations with the local administration. Bill Richardson requested to withdraw his name from the Cabinet list submitted to the Congress. Barack Obama said he accepted the Richardson’s resignation with a great regret and hoped that he would find dignified candidate for this post. Obama said he looked forward to involve Richardson to his Cabinet after the investigation ended. Bill Richardson was a secretary of energy in the Clinton’s Cabinet and then served as a US permanent representative to the United Nations.
