Baku-APA. The United States on Friday imposed sanctions on Syria’s state-run oil company Sytrol for doing business with Iran’s energy sector, APA reports.
The State Department accused Syria of sending 33,000 tons of gasoline to Iran in an April two-way trade in the energy sector.
"The United States remains deeply concerned about the close ties shared by the Iranian and Syrian regimes and is committed to using every tool available to prevent regional destabilization," department spokesman Patrick Ventrell said in a statement.
