Baku-APA. At least three police officers and several protesters were injured on Monday when a group of protesters threw molotov cocktails, rocks, sticks and other objects at police stationed outside the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Protesters clashed with the police in front of the British embassy in Buenos Aires during demonstrations for the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the Malvinas War. The protesters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails to the security forces that guarded the British embassy.

A strong police operation repelled the aggressions with water cannons, rubber bullets and tear gas.

The latest round of violent scuffles follows more muted demonstrations earlier in the day, when an increasing number of disgruntled people yelling epithets started to gather around the embassy grounds, local media reported. The demonstrations are an offshoot of popular celebrations held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the start of the war over the Islas Malvinas, known as the Falklands to the British.

Argentina and Britain went into war in 1982, with Argentina failing to occupy the islands but refusing to acknowledge British rule of the territory.
