Baku – APA. Washington based think-tank organization The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), stated that so called Armenian genocide resolution which will be discussed by U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee on March 4 should be prevented, APA reports citing historyoftruth.com webstie.

Publishing an article related to genocide resolution that is on the agenda of U.S. House, JINSA stated that passage of the resolution may make it impossible for U.S. President Obama to propose assistance for the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.

The article reads, “While Turkish-Israeli political and military relations were strong, it was easy for the representatives of the Jewish community in United States to talk for the interests of their Turkish friends. But as Turkish government turned its face to Syria and Iran, Judaist community became less eager to use her organizational abilities for the sake of a country that is less inclined to the West.”

Stating that Jewish community will not support the resolution but neither actively oppose it, JINSA wrote that opposing the resolution should not be evaluated as a loyality test. The article by JINSA reads that so called Armenian genocide resolution that is introduced by Armenian-American community should be opposed and defeated. Stressing that it is not because the attitude of Turkish government and Turkish-Israeli relations or Turkish-American relations but because “U.S. Congress is not the adress where the history of other nations should be discussed. It would be unacceptable for Brazil to pass a resolution that condemns slavery in United States in 19th century or Latvia to make a law related to the war in 1812. The unsuccess and decisions related to our history is in our responsibility. Same way, the decisions about history of Ottoman Turks should be left to the heirs of the issue. Especially now.

There are no Ottoman or Soviet Empires now; Turkey and Armenia are independent countries. The governments should seek what kind of understandings and rapprochements are possible. Congress’ intervention to the process will not contribute.”
