Demonstrators surround Israeli embassy in Cairo

Baku-APA. Thousands of Egyptian demonstrators surrounded and blocked a multi-storey building of the Israeli embassy in Cairo on early Saturday demanding that the diplomatic mission lowers its national flag, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

The demonstrators are chanting anti-Israeli slogans and demand that the ambassador immediately leave Egypt. They are also calling on the Egyptian authorities to cut off all diplomatic ties with Israel.

People began gathering at the Israeli diplomatic mission on Friday in the wake of the news about three Egyptian military servicemen killed by Israelâ€™s soldiers on Thursday.

An Egyptian officer and two privates were killed by gunfire from an Israeli helicopter, which was pursuing militants in Sinai near the Egyptian border. Egypt demanded from Israel a detailed investigation into the incident.
