Baku-APA. Egypt’s justice ministry says former dictator Hosni Mubarak’s upcoming murder trial will take place in the capital, Cairo, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Local media says a justice ministry official has confirmed that Hosni Mubarak along with his two sons will be tried in the capital’s expo grounds.

"It has been decided that the trial of ex-president Hosni Mubarak and his two sons Alaa and Gamal ... will be held in the building of the General Authority for Investment and the free trade areas in the Cairo Expo grounds," MEMA quoted a justice ministry official as saying.

The trial is scheduled for August 3rd.

Mubarak and his sons are charged with ordering the shooting of anti-regime demonstrators during the revolution.

Mubarak, who was ousted by a popular revolution back in February has been under arrest at a hospital in the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh. He is reportedly receiving treatment for a heart condition.

His transfer to Cairo has been a key demand of people still protesting at the landmark Liberation Square.

The Mubarak family is facing allegations of corruption as well as the use of violence against protesters.

The commission investigating the violence against the protesters says more than 800 demonstrators were killed.

Egypt’s judicial officials say the former dictator could be executed if found guilty of ordering to shoot anti-government protesters.
