Baku-APA. The European Union (EU) on Monday called the international community for more cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC) on its arrest warrant against the embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The EU took note of the ICC’s decision to "issue arrest warrants against Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al Islam Gaddafi and Abdullah al-Sanussi .." and calls for full co-operation with the ICC, it said after a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

On June 27, the ICC issued arrest warrants against Gaddafi, his son Saif and brother-in-law al-Sanussi.

The EU condemned human rights violation and the breaches of international humanitarian law perpetrated by Gaddafi and his followers.

"Gaddafi has lost all legitimacy and must relinquish power immediately," said the EU.

It also called upon the remaining followers of Gaddafi to disassociate themselves from the long-time leader.
