Gaddafi says recognition of rebels’ NTC not decision by Libyan people

Baku-APA. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said in a televised speech on Friday that the Libya contact group’s recognition of the "so-called" National Transitional Council does not represent the decision of the Libyan people, APA reports quoting Xinhua

Gaddafi made the remarks in an audio speech through the Libyan television to his supporters gathering in the town Zliten, about 150 km east of the capital Tripoli.

"Libyan people are represented by nobody, not even by Muammar Gaddafi," he said.

He added that he will carry on with the battle till the NATO forces are drive out of Libya, and the "traitors" should surrender or escape with the NATO forces.

The Libya Contact Group announced at a press conference earlier Friday that it recognizes the opposition National Transitional Council (NTC) as the sole and legitimate interlocutor of the Libyan people. The announcement was made shortly after the conclusion of the fourth meeting of the group in Istanbul.
