Mikayil Jabbarov: â€œThe issue on the embassies located in Icheri Sheher must be solved in accordance with the lawâ€

The embassies are not located in the state property and buildings belonging to Icheri Sheher. The decisions on location of embassies here are private decisions passed once. At present, the embassies are not opened in Icheri Sheherâ€, director of the State Department of the Historical and Architectural Reserve under the Cabinet of Ministers Mikayil Jabbarov told journalists, APA reports. According to him, these embassies have been locating here for more than 10-15 years on the basis of the agreements with private owners in accordance with the Azerbaijanâ€™s legislation: â€œIf they follow the rules applied in Icheri Sheher, we have no legal ground to remove them. If we speak about the legal country, we must speak within the law. There are some rules, restrictions on traffic and protection of architectural monuments in Icheri Sheher. These rules are also applicable to every embassy. If an embassy or organization doesnâ€™t violate this law, we have no right to take such step against them.â€
