The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has achieved significant progress in cooperation with Kenya, France, Azerbaijan, and Somalia in identifying priority areas related to the housing crisis, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anacláudia Rossbach said during the panel discussion titled “The Global Housing Crisis: What’s the Plan?” held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

Rossbach noted that these priorities include land management, housing finance, informal settlements, social housing, and climate-resilient housing models.

The UN-Habitat chief emphasized the particular importance of countries mobilizing their internal resources and developing national housing financing systems.

According to her, the success of housing policy primarily depends on the participation of communities at the local level and the proper planning of the future development of cities.
