Very often, people talk about young people, but young people themselves are not allowed to speak. We are invited to various events only after decisions have already been made, and we are praised as the “leaders of tomorrow," Brian Ngigi, Climate Change Advocate, said at the international conference titled “The role of youth in urban planning in the decolonization process” organized by the Baku Initiative Group within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.

“Today, a new generation is still emerging. Young people are no longer waiting to inherit change, they are actively creating these changes themselves. Across the Global South, young people are transforming diplomacy from the North to the Global South and within the region itself. Youth movements continue the fight against inequality, violence and Apartheid, while also actively working to prepare young people and future global partners. Across the Global South, it is clearly visible that young people are active in shaping the future. These efforts are not isolated actions, but represent a collective awakening across the Global South,” he noted.
