More than 23 million square meters of residential space have been commissioned in Baku since 2003, Head of the Baku City Executive Authority Eldar Azizov said during the roundtable titled “Strengthening Local Action: Reinforcing Multilevel Governance for Adequate Housing and Sustainable Communities” held within the framework of WUF13, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, nearly 180 billion manats have been invested in the capital over the past 20 years.
Eldar Azizov noted that alongside the expansion of the housing stock during this period, social infrastructure has also developed significantly. He stated that in recent years the number of hospitals in Baku has doubled, while the number of schools and kindergartens has also increased considerably.
According to the head of the Baku City Executive Authority, the development of the capital is continuing on the basis of the Master Plan approved two years ago.
