The increase in energy consumption across various sectors and the limitations of production capacities are making it increasingly difficult to ensure the energy required for major industrial sectors, Gholamreza Kazemian, Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development for Urban Planning and Architecture, said during the event titled “D-8 High-Level Energy and Urban Dialogue” organized within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
Sharing his views on the level of construction, the deputy minister noted that global energy imbalance has taken on new dimensions in recent years: “In Iran, buildings account for more than 40 percent of total annual energy consumption and therefore play an important role in energy management.”
According to him, buildings and the construction sector are of great importance, especially in terms of managing energy consumption demand.
