Intense rains observed in Baku several days ago make it necessary to take additional measures to adapt the city’s infrastructure to climate change, Head of the Baku City Executive Authority Eldar Azizov said during an event organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the heavy rains in recent days once again demonstrated the effects of climate change.
Eldar Azizov noted that there is a need for certain reforms in the management of rainwater and in increasing the resilience of urban infrastructure.
“In this regard, relevant meetings have been held and solutions to the problem must be found,” he emphasized.
