Religion plays an important role in international and inter-state relations, Konstantin Pominov, spokesman of the Russian Orthodox Church in Azerbaijan, said at a conference titled “Inter-Religious Dialogue and Fight against Radicalism."
According to him, Azerbaijan is an island of stability.
“Azerbaijan is openly demonstrating tolerance and multiculturalism. Here representatives of all religions live in peace.”
Milikh Yevdayev, head of the Mountain Jews Community in Azerbaijan, said multiculturalism and tolerance have turned into a lifestyle in Azerbaijan.
“Today, I was in the Martyrs’ Alley on the occasion of the 50th birth anniversary of national hero Albert Agarunov. There hundreds of people, who I did not know, came to pay tribute.”
“There are streets and centers named after Albert Agarunov in various cities and districts of Azerbaijan. This is a clear example of the attitude towards Jews in Azerbaijan,” said Milikh Yevdayev.
