A statement on November 8 – Victory Day has been submitted for discussion in the Milli Majlis (Parliament), APA reports.
MP Hikmat Babaoghlu is reading out the statement.
The statement reads:
"The Victory achieved in 2020 under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev was made possible through the unity of our people, Army, and state.
Defense lines considered impregnable were breached, and heavy blows were dealt to the occupying forces. One of the most glorious chapters of the Patriotic War was the liberation of Shusha from occupation on November 8. Azerbaijan restored historical justice and the norms and principles of international law.
The strategic vision, political will, and activities of the President of Azerbaijan in the military, diplomatic, and information spheres made it possible to direct our national strength toward a common goal.
The international community must respect the sovereign choices of the countries of the region and support direct dialogue. Today, the necessary conditions for economic activity and the well-being of the population are being ensured in the liberated territories. Our compatriots are returning to their ancestral lands."
