The protocol of intent for the creation of Turktransplant was signed during the4th Meeting of Health Ministers from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Azerbaijan's Shusha, APA reports.
At the event, it was emphasized that the document allows the field of transplantology to address many of the critical issues in the treatment of serious diseases in modern times.
Additionally, several memorandums of understanding were signed between the scientific-research institutes and centers of the Health Ministries of member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the fields of oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, traumatology, and orthopedics.
The documents contain the establishment of intensive relations between the parties, conducting of scientific research, improving the knowledge and skills of medical professionals operating in these specialties, enabling staff exchange and promoting and strengthening cooperation.

Relations built on solid foundations between the peoples of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States lay the foundation for the highest development of relations in the field of health, Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, said during his speech at the 4th Meeting of Health Ministers from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Shusha, APA reports.
The minister noted that in April of this year, during the official state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of healthcare and medical science was signed between the health ministries of the two countries.
T. Musayev stated that today we will witness the signing of bilateral documents that will promote the deepening of relations in the field of healthcare and the development of future joint activities, as well as the signing of a protocol of intent for the establishment of the Turktransplant system: "We consider the creation of a unified medical scientific space for the member and observer countries of the Organization of the Turkic States, conducting joint scientific research, determining unified medical education standards, and ensuring continuous medical education as the main directions of our joint activities."
It was noted that the rapid application of information and communication technologies in healthcare makes cross-border patient data exchange possible with the development of uniform electronic healthcare standards within the organization: "There are many opportunities that we should jointly implement in this direction."
