Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned that the persons using fake profiles and pages on social network users will be held legally accountable, ONA reports.
The Interior Ministry said that recently there has been an increase in the number of individuals creating and operating unauthorized and fake pages, channels and profiles on social networks using the name and logo of the Ministry.
Creation and operation of such profiles is unacceptable and creates legal liability, added the Ministry.
The Ministry also said that those fake pages and profiles post misinformation about police activity and give wrong answers to questions addressed by citizens.
“Therefore, we encourage social network users to avoid fake pages and profiles,” said the Ministry.
