“Migration field developed dynamically in 2019-2020 and the number of foreigners traveling to Azerbaijan increased,” said Chief of the State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov at a press conference held NAP Executive Secretariat, APA reports.
He stated that the number of migrants coming to the country increased by 17 % in two months of the current year compared to the relevant period of the previous year: “An increase of 0.4% was observed in the number of foreigners registered at the place of their residence. The number of applicants for temporary residence permits increased by 29%. 13 % increase over permits for permanent residence, 16 % over work permits, 23 % for identification of citizenship was recorded. The number of readmitted persons increased by 52 %.”
Chief of the State Migration Service stated that in 2020, 32 foreigners applied for refugee status and this is 3.4 decrease compared to the relevant period of 2020.
