Urgent measures are underway amid preventing the risk of coronavirus (COVID - 19) infection in the territory of Azerbaijan, Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
Relevant hospitals have been allocated and quarantine zones have been established in connection with the detection of coronavirus infection cases in the country.
Field hospital tents have been set up in order to carry out preventive measures on the border with Iran. A decision was made to close the border with Iran from February 29, at 16:00 temporarily to ensure public health and safety. Necessary measures are being taken to examine persons who come from the countries where coronavirus was detected. Specialized hospitals and laboratories are being provided with relevant pieces of equipment and medicines for examination and treatment of the disease. Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers stated that for this purpose, professional doctors were sent to hospitals. The necessary measures are being taken to treat infected people and to identify their possible contacts.
Intensive work is being carried out jointly with WHO to prevent the spread of coronavirus and increase the effectiveness of related preventive measures, serious efforts are made to implement all the given recommendations: “Besides that as a result of negotiations conducted with China, Germany and other countries, a relevant agreement was reached to bring necessary pieces of equipment, specialists regarding coronavirus to Azerbaijan. All necessary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Azerbaijan, the sanitary-epidemiological situation is under strict control .”
