Azerbaijani PA official: “There are some groups which are managed from abroad”

“All religions functioning in Azerbaijan are trated equally and cared about. This is a direct result of the policy conducted by the country’s President, and this policy will be continued from now on”, Aliheydar Zulfugarov, Chief Advisor of Interethnic relations, multiculturalism and religious issues department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration said at the conference entitled as “History and the present status of seculiarity in Azerbaijan”, APA- reprots.

He stated that it was seen from the conducted monitoring activities and the information provided by relevant institutions that there were some groups which were managed from abroad: “They commit propaganda against secularity. And they carry out such propaganda through social networks. During their propaganda they call people not to appeal to secular courts in order to regulate their divorce and marriage relations and let the persons who can regulate such relations based on Shariah principles to engage in such regulation activity. And mostly women finally become the victims of this propaganda because they can’t defend and prove their rights. Those groups try to promote the secular government as a devil’s government. It is natural, that we are concerned about such propaganda”.
